Out of Character Origin AKA Why Jeremy Rodden Created This

You know, I’ve always been a huge fan of writing… been doing it ever since I learned to, uh, write. Creative writing was always my favorite school activity so when other people groaned, I made money by writing their stories for them. Around September of 1998, I was in a phase where I was a big fan of professional wrestling. While searching for things online, I found something called an e-fed. This was a wonderful world where I got trapped and locked in repeatedly, creating characters that I used to fight against others via roleplays, where the best writer wins. Now, eventually, I dipped out of that wrestling fan phase of my life but I still e-wrestled because of my love for writing. I was so happy to have an outlet for my creativity such as this. I began wondering… “How can I keep e-wrestling… without the wrestling?”
While thinking about it one morning, I realized that I could take the same concept that is the basis of e-wrestling (may the best writer win) and store it into something that would allow more creativity… less restriction… and no emphasis on “reality.” CARTOONS!
Thus… the idea of a Toon Fighting World began in my head. I decided I should create an entire world around it, Toonopolis, and try to give way to many more creative writers of the future… giving them a place to release their ideas and energy, in an unrestricted world of competition. Toonopolis is a dream folks, let’s hope it can bloom from now (April 15th, 2000) to the future…
