This page has a simple application form for entering a toon into the Toonopolis Fighting World. TFW has never been one to turn away anyone for quality reasons, so don’t be afraid to send an application in if you’re not confident. We’ll work with you.

Here we have a listing of both in character and out of character staff members. Most staff members are free for use in your toon’s roleplays and almost all were created by Jeremy Rodden. Any exceptions to these statements will be noted.

Out Of Character

Jeremy Rodden: The original creator of Toonopolis and the one who let it die the first time around. After over a year in the memories of those who enjoyed Toonopolis Fighting World, TFW has returned once again led by this wonderful person (hey, I’m writing it – I can write what I want). A college graduate no longer bogged down by full-time undergraduate studies, Jeremy can now devote more time to doing what he enjoys: writing and slacking off!

In Character

Kid Gemini: Once a thirteen year old kid who got sucked into the Tooniverse through his television set, Kid Gemini has returned to Toonopolis after a two year absence in real world terms. Now, at age fifteen after real time got ahold of him again – Gemini is a little more mature and puberty finally got him. He’s a little bulkier than before but still has his short red hair, freckles, big ears, and black horn-rim glasses. After the debacle of deception that ended the first season at the First Movie, Gemini has learned from his mistakes and uses his ultimate power in the Tooniverse for a good cause: bringing back the greatest entertainment business in the Tooniverse. Note: Kid Gemini cannot be used in roleplays without Jeremy’s permission.

Jimbob the Talking Eggplant: When Kid Gemini left the Tooniverse, he left Jimbob in charge of the Toonopolis Fighting World. What an idea that turned out to be. Haunted by delusions and manipulated by everyone in the league, Jimbob went nuts and tried to kill everyone by blowing up the arena. Some made it back, some didn’t. Since Gemini has recently returned, Jimbob has stopped talking to the plants in his office and gone back to his job as director of publicity and commissioner of the league with great happiness. Note: Jimbob cannot be used in roleplays without Jeremy’s permission.

Lefty Hand: Lefty is the left half of one body shared by both he and his twin Righty. The body is a normal body, but there are no arms – the two use their own heads to hold onto things. They speak with their head (hand) clenched in a loose fist, like you’d normally see a hand puppet do. Their eyes are on the inside of their index finger’s knuckle and they have no nose – the space between their thumb and index finger is the tongueless mouth. Lefty’s much more straight of an announcer than his brother. As a matter of fact, the only person he really ever insults is Righty. He enjoys being an announcer and he favors his job – unlike Righty, who really doesn’t care. He stays focused on calling the fights and is very un-biased.

Righty Hand: Righty is the right half of one body shared by both he and his twin Lefty. Righty is an idiot. As the color comentator of the pair, he feels it is his job to make jokes. Unfortunately for the fans, he is really not that funny and at times pretty tasteless. The only funny part comes from the fact that he is, again, an idiot. The brain of the body must lie in Lefty’s half – because Righty doesn’t have any. He is pretty knowledgable about fighting and techniques though, but he’s fairly biased. He’ll usually decide on his favorite toon at the beginning of the fight and even sink to cheering them on like a common fan.

Mike Da Phone: He’s a microphone. You know what they look like, right? He’s not allowed to have an attitude. Ring announcers aren’t supposed to be real people – or toons in this case. He has a pretty dynamic voice, because his head (the tip of the microphone) accentuates it.

Foxxy Lacork: Just like your typical fox, this is one cute toon. She has beautiful red fur covering her whole body with human-like hair on her head. She’s got large eyes that seem vacant… because they are. She tries really, really hard to be smart and to be a great reporter. Well, she fails. Foxxy attempts to sound smart when she talks but she sometimes uses big words in improper context and ends up sounding like a ditz. If there was a possibility of a blonde fox, she’d be it.

Guy A. Teen: Guy (pronounced gee with a hard ‘g’) is one of your old-fashioned barber shop razors, the type used for shaving. He also tends to wear robes and other such clothes that aren’t that expensive, due to the fact that he cuts a lot of his suits. Guy is the best interviewer of the bunch. He asks straight-forward questions and is very intelligent. Even though he’s a blade, he’s not that menacing. He’s more of your intellectual type.

Jack Montana: He’s a scrawny kinda guy, nearly as scrawny as Kid Gemini himself. He’s got fairly bloodshot eyes that constantly have bags underneath them, and he’s very shady looking. He’s got scruffy brown hair and a small, pointy nose. Not only is he shady looking, but he’s also pretty shady himself. As a thirty year old guy that got sucked into the Tooniverse the same way Kid Gemini did, by watching too many cartoons, it can tell you how popular he was. He’s the brunt of jokes and deservingly so. He’s also got something of a nervous twitch, maybe from the years of torture he endured throughout his real life.

Floating Orb: There’s not really much to this thing. It’s merely a small orb that floats around the fighting pit. It doesn’t have a personality. It watches the fight and when it feels that one of the toons has been incapacitated, it screeches to end the fight. It also screeches to begin the fights.

The Wall: The Wall is made of the finest red bricks in all of Toonopolis – weather resistant and unbreakable. It has several hidden cameras embedded within its bricks, placed in precise locations for the optimum performance. The cameras shoot in black and white without sound, but somehow The Wall is able to provide captions at the bottom of the screen.

The Wall is sly and sneaky. Any toon in its immediate presence will fail to notice that it is there, even if they are looking for it. The only way you can see The Wall is through a camera, but the focus is never directed toward The Wall because the cameraman doesn’t notice it. The only reason it’s existance is known is because of a film clip that somehow got on the air during the filming of TFW’s 9th episode. Immediately after the show, employees of TFW’s Intelligence Agency sought after this cunning wall in order to give it a job opprotunity; they never found it, of course, but soon after their wanderings The Wall sent TFW a clip of the search party looking for him, with a caption that read, “Ha ha ha…I accept your offer.” Note: The Wall was created by Jen Bruck.

1.) The TFW uses a points system originated by former Golden State Wrestling fed-head, Ross Hudgens, and their rankings master – Jeremy Rodden. The system makes the rankings a little more fair and unbiased, I think, and makes a big win over a top-ranked toon really a major victory.

2.) Each new toon comes into the federation with four (4) points to their name. They can never go lower than this value as it would destroy the system. When a toon defeats another, he earns 25% of his opponent’s points and likewise, his opponent loses 25% of his points. For example, if a toon with eight points is fighting a toon with four points and the guy with four wins, they both end up with six after the fight. The guy with eight lost 25% of his points (25% of eight is two) and the guy with four earned those two points. Understand? )

3.) Toons earn specific points for the following things instead of using the 25% system: winning a championship will earn you ten extra points, winning any fight with four or more opponents will earn you five points. Points/records are not changed for spontaneous storyline fights, only for fights booked by the staff.

4.) In three way fights, you get the combined 25% of each of your opponents, as do both guys who didn’t win lose 25% of their points. For example, Bob has eight points, Joe has four points, and Frank has twelve points. If Joe wins, he has nine points at the end (25% of eight is two, plus 25% of twelve, which is three).

5.) In handicap matches (one versus two/three/etc) the only changes to record can be a win by the single toon. If the single toon wins, it gets a win on its record plus the number of points equal to the number of opponents. There are no point or record changes for the toons on the out-numbering side no matter the outcome.

6.) (This addition created by Robbie Gaughran) In tornado team matches (two versus two), the two toons that lose both lose 25% of their points. These points are combined and then split evenly between the two winning toons. Example: Joe has 4, Bob has 8, Frank has 12, Jim has 16. Jim and Bob are fighting Frank and Joe. Frank and Joe win. Bob loses 2 points and Jim loses 4 points. Frank and Joe then split these 6 points and get 3 points each. After all is told, Joe now has 7, Bob now has 6, Frank now has 15, and Jim now has 12.

7.) When taking 25% (which is the same as dividing by four), not all numbers come out pretty. If you remember the rules for rounding to the ones place from elementary school math, they still apply here. 25% of five is 1.25, but that would translate as one in factoring points for rankings.

8.) For a draw, no point changes take place.

9.) If, by chance, the points are equal, the ranking then falls on the records. If the records are identical as well, the two (or more) toons are listed as the same ranking and placed in alphabetical order.

10.) If a toon leaves Toonopolis Fighting World and then returns later, its former record will be restored but its points will not. It may have wins/losses but it will start over with four points again.

11.) At the start of a new season (a season equals thirteen saturday morning episodes and a movie), the rankings are started fresh – save for the top ten toons from the previous season. This means that anyone not in the top ten is given four points again and the rankings for everyone with four points relies on record. The number one toon is granted fourteen points to start the next season, number two is granted thirteen, and so on.

Theme: Ultimo Dragon’s Theme Song [[ link ]]

Description: White human with a base blue mask and lime green lining around the eyes and two lime green dragons on the sides of the mask. The pants are the same basic color but have 1 drogon down the right leg.

Attitude: Very quiet shows his loudness in his moves and strength. He is cool and collective.

Strengths: Quick feet and high flying attacks

Weaknesses: weak on power attacks and can`t lift over 500 pounds over my head

Finishing Move: Dragon Face Plow [it pretty much a pedigree but i grab their feet and their legs when i do it]

Origin: Was born in the hills of South Texas and made my way around the world competing in matches until now I have finally found Toonopolis.

Fight History

Theme: “Everybody to the Limit” by Strong Bad [[ link ]]

Description: Ethan’s just your typical 15 year old guy. He’s average height, and average weight, so he really wouldn’t stand out in a crowd. He’s got blond hair, blue eyes, and I guess you say the ladies find him “cute”. Following cartoon law, Ethan wears the same thing every day. A black T-shirt, a blue track jacket, khaki cargo pants, sneakers, and a blue baseball cap.

Attitude: The one word that best describes Ethan would have to be…”naïve”. Or Ethan. Either one, really. When he’s not drawing, he’s terribly friendly, and will make friends with just about anyone he comes in contact with. Because he doodles frequently, he could be classified as kind of an outsider. He’s terrible at sports, even the mere idea of physical activity makes him short of breath. He’s also not that smart, either. So, he spends most of his time with a pencil and paper drawing up ideas and cartoons.

Strengths: Ethan has a huge imagination, and the pencil can never break, wear, or dull.

Weaknesses: Well, if Ethan losses the pencil, then he has lost his only defense. Also, what’s any 15 year old boy’s weakness? Girls.

Finishing Move: The Eraser [If Ethan has done a good enough job that his opponent leaves themselves open to attack, Ethan will use the other side of his trusty pencil and erase his opponent completely, leaving them incapacitated.]

Origin: Ethan Jones’ great Uncle Chuck was a legendary animator. At least, that`s what the newspapers said after he died. When Ethan’s great Uncle Chuck began to get old and frail, he eagerly wanted an heir to take over where his legacy left off. Unfortunately, all of Ethan’s other relatives resented being related to an animator, and had taken white-collar jobs in the plastic industry. Ethan seemed to be the only heir left.

When Ethan went to visit his great Uncle Chuck on his deathbed, his Uncle gave Ethan a magical pencil.

“This pencil will draw anything you can imagine”, said Chuck. “It’ll make anything you draw come to life.”

Ethan laughed at his Uncle as he gave him the pencil. He laughed so hard that he bent over and unhooked the life-support system that was keeping his great Uncle alive. Uncle Chuck died instantly.

The same night that he has received the pencil, Ethan thought that he should at least *try* to honor his great Uncle’s wishes, so he sat down with his best friend and creative consultant, Gideon and began to draw. Nothing he drew that night looked that great, let alone came alive. In frustration, Ethan swirled the pencil around on a piece of paper. To his surprise, the swirl became an inter-dimensional portal, and swept him and Gideon away into the Tooniverse.

Needing food and money once he and Gideon wound up in Toonopolis, Ethan promptly enrolled in the TFW, thinking it stood for “Totally Free Wieners”, not knowing what challenges would await them, or something.

Once he found out that there were no free wieners, and that quitting involved a lot of paperwork, he warmed up to the idea, and gave himself what he thought was a cool name: “The Animator”. Over time his drawing skills improved, and now he can draw many things that come to life and can potentially aid him in a fight.

Name: Gideon Cook
Height/Weight: 6′1″/135 lbs.
Race: Human

Description: Gideon has long curly red hair, which Ethan affectionately calls “The Fro”. Gideon wears layered T-shirts, kjaki pants, and sneakers. He wear glasses because he’s smart.

Attitude: The man behind the magic, Gideon handles all of Ethan’s affairs, and helps fuel his creative mind when artist’s block sets in. He’s also a loyal and trustworthy friend.

Theme: “Superhero” by Stereo Fuse [[ link ]]

Description: Superhero is very muscular, like Superman. He has wavy brown hair and hazel eyes. His costume is mainly white, with blue boots and gloves, and blue underwear (on the outside, of course). He has a blue cape, with white polka dots adorning it.

Attitude: Superhero has the personality of, well. A superhero. He’s nice, caring, kind, and generally everything a superhero is supposed to be. His general disposition (As well as intelligence) can be summarized by the phrase “average thirteen year-old”.

Strengths: His idiocy prevents him from feeling too much pain, and if he drinks a lot of cola, he’ll become relatively fast and slightly stronger than average.

Weaknesses: If the “Do Not Remove Under Penalty of Law” label is removed from underneath Superhero’s cape (bedsheet), he will fall and curl up into a fetal position. Also, he doesn’t like being poked in the eye.

Origin: The story of the infamous ^Superhero^ is one filled with many twists and turns.lies and deceptions. love and deceit. goods and ev- ah hell. screw it. I`m just talking outta my ass.

The character of “Superhero”, drawn by a drugged up teenager in a mental institution, was the son of two normal human beings. A normal father and a normal mother. They led a normal life, drove normal cars, lived in a normal house. The mother went through a normal pregnancy, and gave birth to a normal child.

That was when things went tragically askew.

The child was not normal at all. At the age of twelve, he began to develop a very rare mental disorder. He began to imagine himself as a superhero, with super powers and the like. He injured himself quite badly after an incident where he jumped off a ten story building, trying to fly. This did not discourage him, though. In fact, the massive head wound he sustained just made his mental disorder stronger.in some way or another.

His parents disowned him, never having wanted a child in the first place, much less a crazy one. He was sent to an orphanage, where he was always told that his parents were ritualistically turned inside out, hung upside down, and eaten by rabid parrots. That was when he began to take on his current identity.

Not being exceptionally creative, he dubbed himself “Superhero” and began to fight crime at night. He fashioned himself a crude costume out of old underwear and scotch tape. Despite his utter lack of any real powers, his stupidity allowed him to destroy villains, while simultaneously destroying himself.

During one of these midnight vigilante missions, he met a boy, held hostage by Ties-People-With-Rope Man. As he freed the child, the building in which he was held was set on fire, and Superhero’s escape was blocked. It appeared to be the end, but the child, no older than 13 or 14 years old at the time, fashioned a fire extinguisher out of some burning wood, an apricot, and a few ice cubes. After the fire was put out, he made a battering ram out of a fire extinguisher, a stuffed unicorn, and some cookie dough. After the escape, Superhero enlisted the child as a sidekick, and with the same lack of creativity, named him Sidekick.

As he grew, he retained his `secret identity` and when he left the orphanage he sought work as a mild mannered newspaper reporter under the name of John Iamnotasuperhero. Soon he stumbled upon the Toonopolis Fighting World, and in a mad dash of idiocy, signed up without even knowing what it was.

Name: Normal “Normy” McNormalsonbergsteinski AKA Sidekick
Height/Weight: 5′7″/121 lbs.
Race: Human

Description: Sidekick is a small, not particularly built young child of about fifteen. He has smooth, well-combed black hair, and brown eyes. His costume is mainly black, with some green. He wears a black eye-mask along with his costume.

Attitude: Sidekick is a sarcastic, dry-humored kid, with an intelligence far beyond his years; Sort of like a wise, 40 year-old trapped in a kid’s body. He’s really the brains of the operation, with a knack for gadgets and technology. He has the “MacGyver” ability to make anything out of anything, so he can almost always get out of a tough situation.

Fight History

Theme: “Please” by Nine Inch Nails [[ link ]]

Description: The deep red hue of his skin is only surpassed by the texture, which to the touch allows one to recall the feeling of Samsonite luggage–alligator skin refined and stitched together in the latest fashion. Whilst his hair runs awry across his scalp, he still manages a piercing stare from eyes refreshingly devoid of such extraneous pupils. His signature priest`s habit is just two sizes too large, flowing across the floor as if to almost have a certain disregard towards the personal space of those who might be unfortunate enough to be standing near him. With a sly smirk and cocked eyebrow, it`s almost as if he knows just what you do behind closed doors.

Attitude: Ryan is Chaotic, obviously. Having ressurected from the bowels of hell, he chooses to wreak havoc for no more reason than an obsessive compulsive has for washing his hands that second time–just to make sure.

Strengths: Chaos is unhumanly fast, his features blurring out of existance when he puts forth the effort.

Weaknesses: Ryan`s godly speed is also his mortal coil. While he can reach any non-light speed he cares to, his speed, in addition to the duration of it at heightened velocities, are directly correlated to the intensity and length of his sessions of vertigo there after.

Finishing Move: Removing his dagger from his cloak, he impales his opponent with one trust and licks the blade clean as they fall to the floor.

Origin: Ryan was the creation of a bored business man with the inner plight of repressed angst growing inside him, allowed to evolve in the petri dish of his otherwise barren personality. Soon creating its own being, the images became shadows, and those became figures, and the figures eventually destroyed the pathetic shell that once was, inhabiting and domineering his mind with child-like ease. Out to destroy the world “just to see what turns up”, the repression of his former self soon began to regain control, causing him to ultimately destroy himself, instead. The image before you, this is what turned up.

Fight History

Theme: “Black Hole Sun” by Soundgarden [[ link ]]

Description: Nephrid is a tall modestly built man. He has tousled red and black hair and dark skin. His most noticeable feature, however, is his large mechanical left arm. Nephrid is usually clad in tattered black armor. His black jeans as in equally bad condition. He also dons a long beige coat that drags behind him as he walks.

Attitude: Nephrid is the ultimate loner. He refuses to share his feelings with others and often appears cold and detached. He has been wronged so many times in the past that it seems that he has just given up on life. Despite his depressed exterior, he has a kind, almost caring soul. He is always kind to those he meets and hates loss of life, unless it is absolutely necessary. This glimmer of humanity in an otherwise inhuman personality is the result of the regret he has for the life of crime he continually pursues.

Strengths: Nephrid is cold and calculating and may use intelligent tactics to destroy his enemies. Nephrid is also very skillful with his swords and has learned to be agile and quick while using them, despite the weight.

Weaknesses: Nephrid is not without a conscience and, thus, he is often reluctant to kill or maim people. Also, his metal arm has a relatively slow reaction time, and may hamper his sword fighting from time to time.

Finishing Move: Dark Tomorrow [Nephrid draws out one of his two giant swords and slashes upwards at his opponent, sending them flying through the air. He sheathes his sword and uses his telepathic abilities to keep them afloat. The opponent is then swung from side to side into the adjacent walls of the area. Once he is finished, Nephrid sends them flying into the ceiling rafts and lets them fall right onto his swords, which he sends spiraling upwards.]

Origin: Nephrid was born in squalor on the streets of Yestar on the fifth planet of the Sevnac system. Yestar was a heavy industrialized city and the putrid streets were just as bad as the smog-filled atmosphere. Since childhood Nephrid was constantly abandoned and eventually began to fight for survival on the streets. At the age of thirteen, he hopped aboard a sludge barge and left Sevnac 5 and Yestar behind him.

After a brief period of ship-hopping, he hopped aboard the Icarus, a pirate freighter captained by an outlaw who went by the name of Maarlti Yerr. Luckily for Nephrid, Maarlti had a soft spot for the kid and took him under his wing. Unfortunately, a few years later during a raid on a drug freighter Maarlti and his crew met their doom during an attempted escape. Nephrid just barely managed to escape in the battle-scarred Icarus. His arm was mangled horribly when it was crushed by debris from the explosion that killed the crew.

Since then, he called upon his experiences as a child and Maarlti’s teachings to aid him in smuggling and pirating. Every so often, between jobs he would take time out to educate himself about the universe.

Nephrid eventually rescued a broken down android from a doomed sludge barge. He has stood by Nephrid ever since.

Soon, though, money began to get tight. New laws were strictly enforced, making smuggling and pirating almost impossible. Nephrid’s android, though, had an idea. He had heard about some sort of fighting federation on a backwater planet and proposed that Nephrid join it. Reluctantly, Nephrid accepted and together the two set out to the so-called ‘Toonopolis Fighting Federation’.

Name: C-R4P
Height/Weight: 3′2″/122 lbs.
Race: Android

Description: C-R4P, or Fourpee as he is known, is a rather short battle android. He is crimson colored with silver joints. His head is an orb with a piece of metal that looks like a protruding jaw. This “jaw” gives him a rather tough countenance.

Attitude: C-R4P is sarcastic and annoying. His incisive wit and relative geniality make him the perfect complement to Nephrid’s dark, brooding personality. He is extremely sensitive about his height deficiency and will beat anyone who mentions it to a bloody pulp.

Origin: C-R4P was one of the galaxy’s old police bots. Armed to the teeth with weapons, they once represented the ultimate in crime fighting technology. Then they became obsolete. Each one of the old androids was deactivated and were sent out of the galaxy in empty sludge barges. Fortunately for C-R4P, Nephrid managed to save him from being set adrift in the endless void.

Fight History

Theme: “Chick Magnet” by MXPX [[ link ]]

Description: Mister Goodlookin’ is.well, good-looking. He is a thin, gangly man with abnormally skinny arms and legs and pretty much no curves whatsoever. He has short, neatly combed blonde hair with some strawberry-blonde highlights, and there is a slight tuft that forms a curl above his forehead, which you might call his “bangs”. He has blue eyes and a sparkling smile.

Mister’s shirt appears to be some sort of sailor/disco hybrid. It is a prim, white v-neck shirt with a big blue collar and a gold zipper that goes midway down the front. Underneath the zipper is a blue pouch-pocket of the kind that is often seen on hooded sweatshirts. It has long sleeves that are skin-tight until they get to his elbows, and then they flare out in a wide bell, ending just at his wrists, with a blue cuff at the bottom of the sleeves.

His pants are similar to his shirt; they are tight, tight blue jeans until they reach his knees, which is when they begin to flare out into bells. The jeans have two pockets in the front and none in the back. Mister wears a brown belt with the pants even though it looks like he doesn’t really need one; its buckle is gold. His shoes are shiny and white with brown soles that match his belt, and only a bit of them can be seen from under the bellbottoms.

Attitude: Mister Goodlookin’ loves two things: his looks and the ladies. He’s not particularly bright, and his pick-up lines tend to be under par (though women usually either look past that or don’t even notice, because Mister’s just lucky like that). He doesn’t normally notice when accidents are happening around him – not because he’s used to it, but because he seriously doesn’t realize that he is the cause of it all. It is important to note that, although he is not particularly brave, Mister will do anything to impress a female.

Strengths: Because it is impossible to tell what Mister’s good looks will affect, as well as when and how things will be affected, his opponents’ ideas and plans randomly backfire or create unexpected complications. This same principle also allows some of Mister’s ideas, which are usually cheesy and/or stupid, to work, though usually not in the way that he intended.

Weaknesses: Unfortunately for Mister, his main strength is one of his biggest weaknesses: his good looks influence things randomly, and thus his plans can cause more harm to himself than good. Also, Mister is easily distracted by things (such as women and mirrors).

Finishing Move: See how his fighting style is luck? Well, if he has any sort of cool finish move in a match, that probably has something to do with luck, too.

Origin: Rumor has it that Mister Goodlookin’ was originally created to be Fred from the popular cartoon series, ‘Scooby Doo’. However, the design was scrapped in favor for a less debonair version when the hospital bills for employees involved with animating him became much too high, due to the constant self-destruction of their equipment.

As everyone knows, once a cartoon is created it lives on within the Tooniverse, which is exactly what happened with Mister. Accidents and disasters constantly occur whenever he is nearby because he’s just so damned good-looking, regardless of the living or non-living status of the ill-fated objects. No animal, mineral, vegetable, or inanimate object is safe from his charms and charisma; even men, regardless of sexual preference, are affected – not that they are actually attracted to Mister, but their clothes might suddenly disintegrate, or their glasses might inexplicably fog up.

Mister is usually unaffected by the accidents caused by his appearances. It seems that only his clothing remains immune from the affects that come along with his appearance.

Mister only enrolled in Toonopolis Fighting World because he heard somewhere that the women involved in it rarely spontaneously combust, and he felt that this was a good quality for a woman to have, especially since so many of them seem to share that trait nowadays.
